From the time I was little, my parents taught me something that has shaped the way I live my life: ask, “How can I help?”
Sometimes it wasn’t even words — it was simply stepping in, lending a hand, or showing kindness in the moment.
That’s a part of what love looked like in our home, and it’s something that has stayed with me ever since. It guides how I show up for my family, my friends, my community, and even in my work with health and fitness.
Mister Rogers once said, “Always look for the helpers.” That has always touched my heart, because I’ve never wanted to just look for the helpers — I’ve always wanted to be one.
Whether it’s offering encouragement in the gym, lightening the load for a family member, or noticing when someone in my community needs a little extra support, I want to be the person others can count on. Not for recognition, but because I believe we’re meant to be present for one another — wherever and however God calls us to step in.

In the world of health and fitness, helping can look like so many things. Sometimes it’s cheering someone on as they reach for a goal. Sometimes it’s quietly noticing when someone is struggling and offering compassion instead of judgment. It might be as practical as spotting a friend on a heavy lift or as simple as sharing a smile or kind word. Every small act of help matters.
For me, asking “How can I help?” isn’t just a question — it’s a way of life, a calling God placed in my heart.

I believe that serving others, in both the big and the quiet little ways, is how we remind each other we’re not alone. And who knows — maybe your willingness to help is the answer to someone’s silent prayer.
So let me ask you: Who in your life might need your help today? And how can you be that helper — not just someone who notices, but someone who steps in with love?
