You Matter.

If you’re anything like me, your days are a whirlwind of school drop-offs, work meetings, grocery runs, answering emails with one hand while holding a toddler with the other—and somewhere in between, you’re trying to remember the last time you drank a full glass of water. Sound familiar?

As moms, we wear so many hats. We’re caregivers, cheerleaders, chauffeurs, event planners, project managers and often the glue holding it all together. And while I wouldn’t trade ANY of it for the world, some days can often feel like a marathon with no finish line in sight.

Here’s what I’ve learned: our health—physical, mental, and emotional—matters just as much as the care we give everyone else. Actually, it matters more, because when we’re well, we can show up fully for the people we love.

No, I’m not talking about a perfect diet or daily 5AM workouts (more power to you if that’s your consistency and path!). I’m talking about small, grace-filled steps.

Things like:

  • Drinking an 8-ounce glass of water before your coffee–maybe even after.
  • Saying YES to help, and NO without guilt.
  • Taking five minutes to breathe and simply be still—even if it’s in car line waiting for kiddo pickup.
  • Moving your body in a way that feels good—dancing around the kitchen, walking the dog, or doing a quick stretch while the kids brush their teeth.

Shift your mindset around ‘self-care’.

Self-care is not selfish. It is survival. It’s modeling healthy habits for our kids to bear witness. It’s a quiet way of telling ourselves, “I matter, too.”

If today feels hard, know you are not alone.

You’re doing so much, and you’re doing way better than you give yourself credit for!

Be kind to yourself. Take care of the one person who wears all the hats—because that person deserves care, too. And that person is YOU!

You have got this. And if no one has told you lately, you’re doing a great job!
