Broadcasting Seeds of God’s Love

I’m convinced that each one of us is put on this earth with an impressionable gift. God, the creator of heaven and Earth, created us in His image.

God’s image is impressionable.

My first real encounters with God started with people I’d meet, who through His Spirit, made a lasting impression on me. He uses every person and situation for His good. (Romans 8:28)

Through my faith journey, I’ve come across so many incredible humans who are on fire for sharing God’s word and representing Him well. In honor of International Women’s Day, it felt imperative to recognize one of my favorite God-fearing women on this planet.

Ricki Stewart is the founder and producer of the podcast Broadcast His Love. A podcast designed to share encouragement to believers, and spread the word of God through Christ-centered conversations. Celebrating its 4th year, the podcast has featured countless conversations full of impactful testimony, scripture sharing, and guest appearances of believers in every stage of life.

In Ricki’s words, the podcast is “encouragement to ”…let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 NIV) We all have different jobs and God-given gifts and talents. The purpose of this podcast is to encourage you to use your position to broadcast God’s love.”

In our interview, Ricki reflected on the early days of adolescence when the first seeds for Broadcast His Love came about. “I was at a summer camp called “Big Stuff” with big players in the Christian world like Francis Chan and Louie Giglio. Through that experience, I was overcome with the Holy Spirit and felt Him tell me to “broadcast His love for all to see”.

It was from those early seeds being planted that Ricki began to explore the ways of broadcasting. I was impressed to learn she was a DJ for a radio station, worked as a news broadcaster, and played a significant role in the producing side as well.

Relative to the scripture shared above, God was using all of Ricki’s experiences for His good, despite the twists and turns along the journey.

God can and will use things like relationships, dreams, radio stations, community involvement, and so much more to set an example of how much He truly loves us. It is amazing to see people lean into their God-given gifts, and how He uses them to bring glory, honor, and peace to us all.

Ricki has trusted God with the vision for this podcast, and as a result, God has continued to transform the lives of listeners through her guests’ testimonies. In one of our more vulnerable moments of the conversation, she shared “Every week I quit, but this podcast belongs to the Lord so I am going to keep doing it as long as He continues to bring guests on”.

Today, Ricki maintains the title of wife, mother, health insurance agent, and dear friend (just to name a few). Above all, she is a child of God and represents that title best.

If you’ve listened to the podcast or have had the opportunity to speak on Broadcast His Love, you know Ricki always asks guests to share the scripture that has been speaking to them most. It felt good to turn the tables and ask her for a verse this time.

She shared Colossians 3:17, which says,And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

There is not a moment I’ve spent with Ricki that hasn’t felt holy. In all her ways, she gives credit to Christ and reminds me regularly to pour out praise. This is your cue to tune into Broadcast His Love and be open to how His love moves through you!

Today, I am thanking God for friends like Ricki. He is using people like her to share His good news.

With love and peace, always.
