It’s the best time of year to break out the running shoes, find a running buddy, and sign up for one of the many 5k’s taking place around town this fall. We’ve got a list of some of our favorites here:

2nd Annual Missions 5k

Where: The Casino Beach Pavilion

Sign up and show up this weekend to run for a cause! Upper Room Church is involved in mission work locally and internationally. All proceeds from this weekend’s race will go to serving projects happening right here in our community, as well as other places around the world.


Rock4vet 5k Run & Walk

Time: 7 AM – 1 PM

Where: Maritime Park

Rock4vets 5k is a fun, engaging, and rewarding event that offers something for everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned runner, music lover, or just looking for a way to support a great cause, this event is not to be missed. So come out, bring your friends and family, and join us as we rock out and run for a good cause.


Pensacola Memorial 5K

Time: 7:30 AM – 5 PM

Please register now to join us on September 30th to run, remember, and honor…and help us to Never Leave a Wingman Behind. Runners also have a virtual registration option, so you can participate from anywhere! All 5k registrants will receive a Memorial Run t-shirt.


Pensacola Half Marathon & 5K

When: Sunday, October 8th

Where: Blue Wahoos Stadium

This course was designed by locals to highlight the beauty of Pensacola and to give participants an event that they will love. The Pensacola Half Marathon starts at our Maritime Park behind the Blue Wahoos stadium overlooking Pensacola Bay. You will loop through the historic North Hill community just before crossing the Bayou Chico bridge capturing marina views of both Bayou Chico and Pensacola bay. Next, the course takes you to Pensacola’s downtown through our Historic District before returning you back to Maritime Park. The Pensacola Half Marathon is a true gem for the Southeast Running community and a MUST DO event for Columbus Day weekend.

Semper Fi 5K

Where: Pensacola Beach

The event is always dedicated to a distinguished veteran who has served our Nation. This year’s race honors Navy Airman Ryan Blackwell, heroically wounded six times in a terrorist attack at NAS Pensacola while shielding co-workers from the gunman.

Going into the 39th year of the Semper Fi 5K run’s legacy, the event has raised nearly $700,000 for local charities. This year’s recipients are Santa Rosa Kids’ House, Vision of Hope, Be the Miracle, Veterans in Distress Fund, Gulf Coast Kid’s House, and the Ryan Blackwell Foundation.


39th Great Pumpkin Run 5K

When: November 4th, 2023

Where: Sacred Heart in East Hill

The popular 5K race, which begins at 12th Avenue and Moreno Street and winds through scenic and historic East Hill, is sanctioned by the Pensacola Runners’ Association and attracts close to 1,200 participants each year.

Proceeds from the race benefit the Sacred Heart Cathedral School and are used to contribute to the capital improvements to the buildings and grounds.

Overall winners last year received a Pumpkin Run drawstring backpack with pockets and the top three runners in each Junior Division receive a Gold, Silver, or Bronze medal. All runners participating in the 1-mile Little Pumpkin Fun Run receive an “I did it!” participation ribbon.

In addition, you can find “goodies” with your race materials. There is always plenty of the locally-famous Pumpkin Bread for re-fueling and fantastic door prizes following the race.


Pensacola Beach Turkey Trot

When: November 23, 2023

Where: Casino Beach Pavilion

Join us for the 13th annual Trot for Thought 5k or the Kids Beach Turkey Dash. Dash starts at 8 am with color craft t-shirt following, 5k starts at 8:30 am with DJ, after party, runner’s breakfast, awards, costume contest, and give-a-ways! Come trot for thought as we raise proceeds for brain cancer research. We raised $25,000 last year and hope to increase that number this year!
