For many of us 9/11 is a part of our history. For the new generation, it is simply a part of history. On September 11, 2001, the world witnessed an unimaginable tragedy that shook the very foundations of our existence. Today, as we mark the 22nd anniversary of 9/11, we gather to remember and honor the lives that were lost on that fateful day.
We remember the innocent souls who woke up that morning with hopes and dreams, unaware of the impending darkness that awaited them. They were mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters, friends and colleagues. They represented the vibrant diversity of our nation, with backgrounds spanning cultures, religions, and beliefs.
