If you’re new to the Deep South, you’ll quickly learn that we take our college sports seriously. It’s a second religion.
We take our harassment of one another seriously, too. See the photo with the juxtaposed article title. Look, we know many of us Gen Xers and Boomers couldn’t get into FSU these days, so we have to have something to laugh about.
We love our Saints (er, NFL teams), too. Mainly the Saints, but love is love, right? (Okay, really we just love the Saints and are trying to be nice.) Who Dat! – Side note: Saints Sundays at Perfect Plain. You’re welcome.
But college football? That’s where our hearts are. We Arkansas fans and alumni try and try again to start to watch parties locally, but just can’t get it off the ground. So every week, we remain jealous of the other SEC alumni groups that assemble at the locations below. Whatever. Our cheer is the best in the country. Wooooo Pig Sooieeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!
UWF fans are lucky that their new football team is showing out from the start and now have a place on campus to watch college football. If you see me in an Argos t-shirt wandering around on gameday, mind your business – I can’t drive 12 hours one way to catch my beloved Razorbacks, okay?
For everyone else, here are a few watering holes with televisions to gather with your fellow alums to War Chant, War Eagle, Woo Pig (oh right, we can’t get it together), Call Them Dawgs and Hogs, Yell Tiger Bait, Gator Chop and whatever else silly and absolutely perfect cheer you’ve got! *I am aware that FSU is not in the SEC. I’m sorry for their loss.
