The Escambia County School District (ECSD) has announced it will be hiring additional personnel in early 2022 to serve as Campus Security Officers (CSOs) in elementary schools.
“Campus Security Officers protect students in our schools across all of Escambia County,” said ECSD Protection Services Coordinator Kyle Kinser. “Rigorous training is conducted by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office to provide the necessary skills.”
Applicants are encouraged to apply soon, as there are multiple steps to the application process. The position is currently posted and will remain open until January 7, 2022. The District intends to recruit approximately 20 qualified individuals to participate in the training class, which begins in February, 2022. The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office will conduct thorough background screenings, psychological evaluations, and polygraph tests for interested candidates. Mr. Kinser identifies the most successful candidates, “who have a good foundation of experience and the right temperament for the type of work.” Successful candidates will be required to complete over 150 hours of paid training. The next class is expected to begin February 28, 2022.

Selected candidates begin with a current starting salary of $31,397 for 10 month employment. Once the training process has been completed, candidates are eligible for a variety of benefits.
