VPS to launch nonstop service to Washington D.C.

American Airlines will begin nonstop daily service between Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) and Reagan National Airport (DCA) in Washington, D.C. beginning on May 4, 2018.

The flights will be operated on the 76-seat, dual-class configured Embraer 175, the newest aircraft in American’s fleet. Flights will depart Washington, D.C. at 8:45 a.m., arriving at VPS at 10:07 a.m., then depart VPS on its return trip to Washington at 11:05 a.m., arriving at DCA at 2:19 PM.

“Daily non-stop service to our nation’s capital will be a game-changer for our military personnel and contractors who travel back and forth frequently,” said Okaloosa County Commission Chairwoman Carolyn Ketchel, who also serves as a member of the Okaloosa County Aviation Board. “I thank [Okaloosa airports director Tracy] Stage, members of our Okaloosa County Aviation Board and the incredible team that has made VPS one of the fastest-growing airports in the Southeast.”
