Gaetz in Pensacola Thursday

Northwest Florida congressman Matt Gaetz is holding another “Open Gaetz Day” in Pensacola on Thursday, with a day-long schedule of public events.

Gaetz will begin the day at 6:30 a.m. with a live, on-location town hall meeting at Pensacola Beach’s Gulfside Pavilion, hosted by NewsRadio 1620. Constituents are welcome to attend the event in person or call in with their questions.

Immediately following the town hall, Gaetz will host and participate in a beach cleanup in the Casino Beach area around the pavilion. Volunteers are welcome.

Several events on Gaetz’s schedule Thursday won’t be open to the general public, including a visit to West Pensacola Elementary School and a military roundtable discussion. He’ll also record an interview with WSRE’s Jeff Weeks which will air later that evening at 7:30 p.m., with replays on 4/21 at 10:30 p.m. and 4/23 at 10:00 a.m.

At 2:20 p.m., Gaetz will hold an “Environmental Cleanup Listening Tour” event at the American Creosote Works Superfund site in Pensacola’s Sanders Beach neighborhood. A second environmental listening tour event will follow at Nick’s Boathouse restaurant at 3:30 p.m, after which Gaetz will attend the Escambia County Commission meeting at 5:00 p.m.

Gaetz will finish the day at the Pensacola Blue Wahoos baseball game, where he’ll throw out the first pitch. Gaetz’s staff will have a “Constituent Info Booth” set up inside the stadium while Gaetz enjoys the game with fans.
