The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is once again teaming up with Walgreens, the Community Drug and Alcohol Council, Inc. and the Drug Enforcement Administration for a drug take-back program with several drop-off locations throughout Escambia County. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 26, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The “Prescription Drug Take-Back” is a one-day effort to provide the public with locations to voluntarily surrender expired, unwanted, unused pharmaceutically controlled substances, and other medications for destruction.
The following Walgreens locations are participating:
- Walgreens at 9 mile Road and Palafox
- Walgreens at Brent and Hwy 29
- Walgreens at Saufley Field Road and Mobile Hwy
- Walgreens at Olive Rd and Davis Hwy
Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan said, “Prescription drug abuse is not uncommon in our society and this is an opportunity for members of our community to get rid of their unwanted drugs before they fall into the hands of someone who may abuse or misuse them.”
