The historic Saenger Theatre is proud to announce its 2026 Summer Movie Series, The Sound and the Story: Five Decades of Steven Spielberg and John Williams, presented by Hanto & Clarke General Contractors and WRNE Cool 93.7 FM & 980 AM. The series celebrates one of the most influential creative partnerships in cinematic history.
Beginning July 26, audiences will have the opportunity to experience five iconic films on the big screen in the grandeur of the Saenger Theatre. The series showcases the unforgettable storytelling of legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg paired with the award-winning scores of renowned composer John Williams.
The 2026 Summer Movie Series lineup includes:
- Jaws (1975) – July 26
• E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) – August 2
• Jurassic Park (1993) – August 9 - Catch Me If You Can (2002) – August 16
• Lincoln (2012) – August 23
Each screening will begin at 3 p.m., offering audiences the opportunity to rediscover these cinematic classics. Movie lovers of all ages can experience these beloved films as they were meant to be seen: on the big screen.
Adding to the experience, Lola, the Saenger Pipe Organ, will be featured for one hour prior to each screening, performed live by local organists.
The Summer Movie Series is designed to provide affordable access to arts and entertainment while creating meaningful opportunities for families, friends, and visitors to gather and enjoy shared cultural experiences in downtown Pensacola.In addition to celebrating classic films, the series supports the ongoing preservation and programming of the nearly century-old Saenger Theatre, helping ensure that future generations can continue to enjoy the region’s historic performing arts landmark.
Supporting partners for the series include Pensacola’s Downtown Crowd, O’Riley’s Irish Pub Downtown, Local Pulse Pensacola, and Cumulus Media.
Tickets are $7 per screening. Moviegoers may purchase all five films and receive one screening free when purchased through the Saenger Theatre Box Office. Full concessions will be available at all performances, including themed drink specials and specially curated combo offerings for both kids and adults.
