Peterbrooke Chocolatier is helping guests in Pensacola cool off with the return of its beloved “Gelato July” promotion. Every Wednesday in July, guests who visit Peterbrooke Chocolatier Pensacola will receive a free scoop of Peterbrooke’s handcrafted, Italian-style gelato, no purchase necessary.

Originally launched in 2014 as a simple way to say thank you to Peterbrooke’s loyal Jacksonville-area fans, “Gelato July” has grown into a cherished tradition for chocolate and gelato lovers alike. Over the past decade, Peterbrooke has given away an estimated 120,000 scoops of gelato across its network of neighborhood chocolate shops, and 2026 promises to be its biggest year yet.

“‘Gelato July’ is one of our favorite traditions because it gives us the chance to welcome both longtime customers and first-time visitors into the shop,” said Lee Cartledge, owner of the local Peterbrooke Chocolatier franchise. “Pensacola summers can be hot, and there’s nothing better than sharing a free scoop of handcrafted gelato with our community and seeing people enjoy a sweet treat with family and friends.”

Guests can expect six to 12 rotating flavors, including signature favorites like Strawberry, Chocolate Chunk, Banana, Mango, Caramel Praline, Tahitian Vanilla and Chocolate Decadence. The complimentary scoop is served as a sample, but guests can also purchase medium and large portions in cups, waffle cones, milkshakes or affogatos, with a full range of toppings available. All Peterbrooke gelato is OU Kosher certified, as are many of the brand’s signature chocolate creations.

“Everything we make, from chocolate-covered popcorn to our gelato, is handmade and carefully crafted to surprise and delight,” said Jeff Smith, chief operating officer of Peterbrooke Chocolatier. “Our gelato rivals anything you’ll find in Italy, and ‘Gelato July’ is our way of sharing that joy with the communities that have supported us for more than 40 years.”

For more information about Peterbrooke Chocolatier Pensacola, visit the shop at 112 Palafox Place in downtown Pensacola on any Wednesday in July from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. to enjoy a free scoop of gelato.
