Bodyworks of Perdido Key Celebrates 13 Years of Serving the Community

When Cindy Rodriguez opened the doors to Bodyworks of Perdido Key 13 years ago, she wasn’t launching a large wellness spa. She was a solo practitioner with a treatment room, a dream and a passion for helping people feel their best.

Today, Bodyworks has grown into one of Perdido Key’s most trusted wellness destinations, offering massage therapy, skincare services and wellness treatments to locals, military families and visitors alike.

But according to Rodriguez, the true story behind Bodyworks’ success isn’t about growth. It’s about relationships.

“The community has supported us in the most genuine way possible by trusting us with the people they love and care for,” Cindy said.

Over the years, much of Bodyworks’ growth has come through referrals. One guest experiences the difference and then sends their spouse, parents, children or friends. Before long, the team isn’t just caring for one client, they’re caring for entire households.

“Perdido Key and the surrounding area has such a beautiful mix of people, and we’ve had the privilege of serving all of them,” Rodriguez said. “Our long-time locals who have been with us for years. Our second-home owners who make us part of their routine every time they’re in town. Our military families, who we have so much respect and gratitude for—they move, they come back and they send each other our way.”

In many ways, Rodriguez believes the community didn’t just support the business, they helped build it. That support has created something rare, client relationships that span more than a decade.

Many of Rodriguez’s guests have been with her since the very beginning, including the first client she ever served when she opened her doors.

“When I stop and think about that, it’s honestly pretty incredible,” she said.

Those long-time clients have witnessed every stage of the Bodyworks journey, from a single treatment room to the full-service wellness spa it is today.

“They watched me go from a single treatment room and a dream to building a team, growing Bodyworks into a full wellness spa and becoming the business it is today,” Rodriguez said. “But what means the most to me is that they didn’t just watch the business grow. They watched me grow, too.”

Over the years, many of those clients have become friends and part of the Bodyworks story itself.

“They’ve celebrated the good times with me, encouraged me through the hard ones and continued to show up year after year,” Rodriguez said. “That kind of loyalty isn’t something you can buy or market your way into. It’s earned slowly through trust and genuine care, and I will never take it for granted.”

As Bodyworks marks 13 years in business, Rodriguez says the moments that stand out most aren’t necessarily tied to milestones or expansions. Instead, they’re the moments that revealed who the business truly is at its core.

“I think the defining moments are the ones that revealed who we are at our core,” she said. “Through every season, we kept showing up, taking care of people and doing our best to make a difference in someone’s day.”

That philosophy remains the foundation of Bodyworks today.
While the spa has evolved over the years, the mission remains unchanged, create a place where people feel cared for, supported and valued.

Today, Bodyworks is home to a team of four licensed massage therapists and two estheticians offering customized massage therapy, advanced skincare treatments and wellness services. Guests can also enjoy the spa’s couples massage room, making it a popular destination for locals, visitors and those looking to share a relaxing experience with someone special. It’s also home to spa manager, spa coordinator and spa team support making sure everything runs smoothly.

That commitment continues to resonate with the community. This year, Bodyworks of Perdido Key was nominated in not one but three Best of the Bay categories: Best Massage Therapy, Best Spa and Best Facial.

For Rodriguez, the recognition is meaningful, but it’s the relationships behind it that matter most.

“The community doesn’t just support this business, in a lot of ways, they built it,” she said.

Voting for Best of the Bay is open through June 30, giving supporters an opportunity to recognize the business that has spent the past 13 years caring for the Perdido Key community.
