The Watson Family Foundation will be hosting a free, family-friendly Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Museum Plaza (120 Church Street) from 12 PM to 6 PM.
Themed as a vibrant “family reunion,” this event invites families, local businesses, performers, and community leaders to honor Black culture, achievement, resilience, and progress.
Attendees can enjoy a full day of entertainment and activities, including:
• Live entertainment throughout the afternoon
• Inspirational speakers
• Games and activities
• Local vendors and food trucks
• A Kid’s Zone with face painting, an obstacle course, interactive blue blocks, and more
• A live DJ and performances from local favorites
The event will be emceed by local actor and entrepreneur Charles Gibson, owner of A Different Swag Inc. Featured entertainment will include performances by the Polimbatree African Drummers, DJ Neutron, dynamic dance troupes, and talented youth performers.
For parents and adults, the celebration will also feature a Spades and Dominoes Tournament, Family Feud game, and Sweet Potato Pie contest. Guests will have the opportunity to support local entrepreneurs by shopping from a variety of vendors offering handmade and locally crafted items, including clothing, jewelry, artwork, candles, and more.
As seating is limited, attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and picnic blankets to relax and enjoy the festivities.
Founded in 2018, The Watson Family Foundation has remained dedicated to supporting families in need, providing school supplies, laptops, lodging assistance, and hardship relief. This Juneteenth celebration is another opportunity for the foundation to give back.
As part of the event, TWFF will award a $1,000 scholarship to a minority student attending the University of West Florida (UWF) and will also be raising funds to continue its mission.
