United Way of West Florida will host its signature Glitz & Gallop Gala on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Sanders Beach-Corinne Jones Resource Center. Presented by HCA Florida West Hospital, this high-energy, Derby-inspired event raises critical funds to support local ALICE families—those who are Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed—and struggling to make ends meet across Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
Inspired by the excitement and elegance of the Kentucky Derby, the Glitz & Gallop Gala offers an unforgettable afternoon of entertainment and impact. Guests will enjoy a live broadcast of the Derby, handcrafted cocktails, gourmet hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, interactive horse races, and opportunities to win exciting prizes.
“When families are stretched thin financially, it can create ripple effects across an entire community,” said Chief Jennifer Frank, honorary chair of this year’s gala. “I see firsthand how that strain impacts families beyond finances—affecting stability and overall community well-being. Supporting ALICE families helps strengthen our community as a whole.”
Funds raised from the Glitz & Gallop Gala directly support United Way of West Florida’s initiatives that improve financial stability, access to resources, and overall community well-being. Through programs like 211 Northwest Florida and strategic investments in local partner agencies, UWWF connects thousands of individuals and families to critical services each year.
ALICE households represent a significant portion of the local workforce—individuals who are employed and make too much to qualify for government assistance programs but not enough to afford the rising cost of housing, childcare, healthcare, and other essentials.
The event will be emceed by Brent Lane of CAT Country 98.7, bringing energy and excitement to a program that blends southern charm with meaningful impact. Event sponsors include, Publix, Florida Power and Light, Pensacola Energy, Navy Federal Credit Union, SixWatch, Culinary Productions, Bella Magazine, Patrice Whitten, AvalonHR, Marsh McLennan Agency, Anything Events & Rentals, Pensacola News Journal and Blues Angel Music.
Attendees are encouraged to don their best Derby-inspired attire and join United Way for an afternoon where glamour meets generosity. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit UWWF’s website at uwwf.org/gala.
