If you know, you know. Waterboyz is one of those places you don’t just visit, you end up there and you stay awhile. And tucked inside is Café Single Fin, bringing exactly what they promise, laid-back coastal energy and food that hits every time.
This Food Crush felt very on brand as the Local Pulse and Red Iron Design team often jokes about Waterboyz being our second office because we are there so often. I walked in with Doug, ordered at the counter, and within minutes ran into Jen Mckeown-Putney from Reliance Mortgage, a fellow Waterboyz regular, so of course she pulled up a chair. That’s kind of how it goes here.
The menu is stacked in the best way. It leans coastal and fresh, but still gives you the comfort food moments you want. Acai bowls, fresh-pressed juices, all-day breakfast, but also burritos, tacos, quesadillas. Everything is made to order and actually done right.
Here’s what we ordered:
Chicken quesadilla (Jen’s go-to) this quesadilla is massive and delicious. Crispy tortilla on the outside and stuffed full with gooey cheese and chicken. Don’t skin their house-made salsa for dipping.
Shrimp tacos + chips and fresh guac (mine) I can’t get away from these! I order them every visit and as someone who has tried a lot of tacos in Pensacola these ones are at the top of my list.
Riptide Burrito (Doug’s… and yes, you can get it as tacos too) this was a stand out! We had tried the tacos, but go ahead and take our advice and have them make it into a burrito. You will not be disappointed. The cheese, the black beans, the chorizo are spot on and come together for the perfect bite everytime. Doug and I agreed this was one of the best burritos we have had. RUN don’t walk!
And then there’s the dessert counter. Fully vegan. Fully gluten-free. And you would never know. We’re talking a massive slice of chocolate cake and a lemon cheesecake that tasted exactly like the real thing rich, creamy, no disclaimers needed.
But Café Single Fin is only part of why this place works. Waterboyz is the full experience.
You can grab a seat inside or on the patio, post up and watch the skate park in the back, or wander through and shop (shoes, sunglasses, skateboards and more. You can even listen to live music there a few nights a week.
It’s laid-back, welcoming, a little chaotic in the best way and it works for everyone. Kids, adults, locals, visitors. It’s one of those Pensacola spots that actually lives up to the word community.
It’s also where we end up for meetings more often than not. Easy, casual, good food, good energy so it just makes sense.
Café Single Fin keeps it fresh, balanced, and made for everyone.
