March is National Reading Month, and ReadyKids! is turning the page on an unforgettable literary celebration!
Families are invited to Read Across Pensacola Day Extravaganza on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Museum Plaza, in the heart of downtown Pensacola (300 S Tarragona St, Pensacola, FL 32502).
This free, high-energy event is designed to spark imaginations and explore the wonder of reading. Museum Plaza will transform into a storybook wonderland – filled with live characters, hands-on activities, and thousands of pages waiting to be explored by children of all ages.
Families Can Look Forward To:
- Live story time sessions that bring books to life
- Create-your-own story adventures to inspire budding authors
- Free book giveaways to help build home libraries
- Costumed characters stepping right out of favorite stories
- Face painting, crafts, and interactive literacy activities
- Free giveaways throughout the day
- 20+ local organizations sharing valuable resources
“Read Across Pensacola Day is more than an event – it’s a community-wide celebration of possibility,” said Kristy Craig, Executive Director of ReadyKids!. “When we make reading fun, magical, and accessible, we’re not just handing out books. We’re helping children discover confidence, connection, and a lifelong love of learning.”
Read Across Pensacola Day is inspired by the nationwide Read Across America initiative, which unites communities in promoting literacy and encouraging children to fall in love with reading. Whether families stay for an hour or the entire event, they’ll leave with stories in hand, smiles on their faces, and new ways to support reading at home.
