At Pace, girls and young women receive academic instruction and work closely with counselors and therapists trained in trauma-informed, strength-based care. They also build essential life skills in communication, healthy relationships, and problem-solving — all provided at no cost to them or their families.
Each girl who walks through Pace’s doors carries her own story — and each has the power to spark a ripple effect that transforms not only her life but also her family and community. By helping girls build confidence, resilience, and independence, find their voice, heal from past trauma, and discover their potential, Pace is breaking generational cycles and creating a stronger, healthier community. Every success—graduating, pursuing higher education or careers, and becoming a positive contributor to society—represents lasting, generational change.
During the 2024–2025 fiscal year, Pace Escambia-Santa Rosa served 104 girls with an average age of 14.8:
- 49% were in middle school, 51% in high school
- 60% or more experienced academic, behavioral, or community risk factors prior to enrollment (6 of10 failed classes, 8 of 10 had behaviors related to delinquency, 5 of 10 disengaged in their community)
Program outcomes show significant success for Pace girls identified at program completion:
- 90% are engaged in school or employed or both
- 80% improved academically in reading or math STAR tests
- 72% maintained daily school attendance
- 100% had no involvement with juvenile justice 12 months after program completion
Since its founding in 1994, Pace Escambia-Santa Rosa has served more than 4,000 girls, empowering each one to rewrite her story and create a future defined by hope, confidence, and possibility.
