The holidays always have a way of slowing us down just enough to remind us what really matters.
This season, our team had the chance to be part of something incredibly special — shopping for local foster children through the Northwest Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation’s Hope for the Holidays program.
At its core, this program is about one simple truth: every child deserves to feel seen, chosen, and cared for, especially during the holidays. For children navigating the foster care system, that feeling can mean everything.
We shopped together as a team, picking out gifts thoughtfully and intentionally. Not just checking names off a list, but really imagining the kids on the other side of each present and fulfilling their Christmas list. It was such a reminder that giving back isn’t just meaningful, it’s joy-filled.
The Northwest Florida Guardian ad Litem Foundation supports court-appointed advocates who stand beside children in some of their most vulnerable moments, making sure their voices are heard and their best interests are protected. These advocates show up every day for kids who need someone firmly in their corner.
This year’s Hope for the Holidays program was led by Red Iron Design team member and absolute gem, Abigail Farrington. She is making a remarkable impact ensuring that nearly 400 children across Escambia and Santa Rosa counties will receive gifts this Christmas. Behind each one is care, intention, and the reminder that someone took the time to think about them.
The foundation’s leadership, including another Red Iron Design and Local Pulse team member, Vice President Karen Jolly, continues to be a steady, compassionate force in our community – advocating for children and supporting the people who serve them so faithfully.
At Local Pulse, we believe the most important stories are often the quiet ones, the moments of generosity, the behind-the-scenes work, the people who show up without needing recognition. This is one of those stories.
