A Big Win for Nurses: New Partnership Brings Stronger Support and Leadership Development

Healthcare Plus Solutions Group® (HPSG), a company founded by Quint Studer and Dan Collard is quietly doing incredible work based in our own Pensacola backyard. And now, they’re taking another big step forward.

HPSG recently welcomed uLeadership®, a nationally and internationally recognized professional development and research company known for helping nurse leaders grow through relational, human-centered leadership.

The founders of uLeadership, Dr. Kay Kennedy (CEO), Dr. Lucy Leclerc (Chief Innovation and Learning Officer), and Susan Campis (Chief Wellness Officer), created the Human-Centered Leadership in Healthcare® framework.

Their research-based model helps nurse leaders cultivate a healthy mindset, prioritize self-care, and achieve results by leading through relationships. Their mission is simple and powerful: develop the people who lead the people who care for the people.

Why This Matters

This acquisition underscores HPSG’s long-standing belief that nurses are essential to building strong, resilient healthcare organizations.

It also reflects their commitment to a “people-first” leadership style—something today’s workforce increasingly expects and appreciates.

A Natural Next Step

“This is a natural next step for us,” says HPSG co-founder Quint Studer. “We’ve always valued nurses and their voices, and we’ve always had a ‘people-first’ mindset. Across four decades in healthcare, we’ve been committed to creating great places for people to work, practice, and receive care.”

Quint Studer, Co-Founder of Healthcare Plus Solutions Group, travels frequently to train nurse leaders and other healthcare professionals.

When HPSG launched in 2022, they partnered with the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) and the American Nurses Association (ANA) to lead research involving thousands of nurses. Their goal: truly understand what daily life looks like for today’s nursing workforce. Three years later, uLeadership’s expertise and leadership team are joining HPSG to help continue that mission.

The science behind uLeadership complements what HPSG has been building from day one, including:

  • The Human Capital Ecosystem™: a framework that reimagines what it means to put people first.
  • Precision Leader Development™: a platform for personalized leadership growth across any organization.
  • Their published works: Rewiring Excellence: Hardwired to RewiredHuman Margin: Building the Foundations of Trust, and the soon-to-be-released Genfluence: How to Lead a Multigenerational Workforce.

Bringing uLeadership into the fold helps ensure HPSG continues delivering on the promise it was founded on.

Where the Puck Is Going

uLeadership focuses on well-being, excellence, trust, and caring—values that are deeply aligned with HPSG’s philosophy and their understanding of where healthcare leadership is headed.

“There’s a gap between what today’s talent wants and what leaders sometimes know how to deliver,” says HPSG co-founder Dan Collard.

“Together, we can bridge that gap. We know where the industry is going, and this partnership helps our clients get there faster.”

The uLeadership founders have captured their philosophy in their books, Human-Centered Leadership in Healthcare: Evolution of a Revolution (2021) and the upcoming Human-Centered Leadership in Healthcare: The Revolution Continues, to be published this winter by the American Nurses Association.

Collard notes the word “love,” hidden in reverse within the word “revolution” on their first book’s cover. “Love is naturally intertwined with leadership,” he says. “It’s a big part of what makes us human.”

What This Means for Clients and Communities

This partnership is truly a case of “one plus one equals three.” By combining strengths, HPSG and uLeadership will help leaders grow, support caregivers more effectively, and ultimately strengthen the communities they serve.

Dr. Kennedy says the decision felt right from the beginning.
“HPSG was our first choice,” she shares. “We’ve known Quint and Dan for years, and we’ve always admired how they center people—both in their values and their work. Our models even begin with the same word: Human.

“Most importantly, our missions align seamlessly. HPSG focuses on attracting and retaining great people, and we focus on developing the leaders who support them. Together, we can expand our reach and deepen our impact.”
