A speech-language pathologist who’s helped hundreds of stroke patients regain their voice, a neurosurgery referral coordinator changing outcomes for patients, and a cardiologist who’s saved countless lives were among eight healthcare professionals and organizations honored on October 23rd at the 2nd Annual Health Excellence Awards.
The Escambia & Santa Rosa County Medical Society Foundation (ECMS-Foundation) recognized individuals and organizations whose work often goes unseen but makes profound differences in patients’ lives every day. The ceremony was held at the Jean and Paul Amos Performance Studio.
“These aren’t just awards – they represent real people whose lives have been changed,” said Laura Griffin, Executive Director of ECMS Foundation. “Behind every recipient is a patient who can speak again, a child who received life-saving care, or a family that had hope restored.”

The awards ceremony brought together more than 150 healthcare professionals, community leaders, and supporters to celebrate those who exemplify the highest standards of patient care and dedication to improving lives in Northwest Florida.
