The countdown to Pensacola Eggfest 2025 is on, and the call for cook teams is heating up.
This year, the Pensacola Eggfest team is continuing this series with a special challenge that comes with some friendly competition among Pensacola’s pastors and non-profit leaders.
In this week’s Pensacola Eggfest cook team article, Tim Payne, pastor of Momentum Church, throws down the gauntlet, calling on other local pastors to join him at the Big Green Egg and represent their congregations in this year’s event. Momentum Church has been part of Pensacola Eggfest for many years, usually placing in the top 10 with two People’s Choice Awards under their belt.
“Pensacola Eggfest is more than just incredible food, it’s about community, generosity, and bringing people together,” Payne shared. “What better way to do that than through a little friendly competition with pastors who love their city and their people?”

It’s the perfect opportunity for these groups to showcase their BBQ skills, rally their supporters, and make an impact while having fun.
Pensacola Eggfest brings together cook teams from across our community to serve up mouthwatering dishes hot off the Big Green Egg. Guests enjoy unlimited samples, music from Cat Country Radio, and an unforgettable experience – all while supporting local charities.
Organizers are calling on pastors, churches, nonprofits, and community groups to step up, form a team, and join the fun. And if you’re not in the nonprofit division? The event hosts BBQ teams and backyard cooks from all over the United States who share two things: a love of cooking and the joy of giving back to their communities. Since 2013, over $930,000 has been donated to local charities from this little BBQ party and the Pensacola Eggfest team is ready to push it over the $1 million mark with your help.
