Fellowship, Friendship, & Family

If there’s one thing this past week reminded me of, it’s that community and fellowship are the heartbeat of a full life. When we show up for one another — to celebrate, to support, to laugh, to listen — we create something far greater than ourselves.

This week was brimming with those moments — filled with reflection, laughter, love, and togetherness — all reminders of how deeply intertwined our lives become when we lean into connection.

The week began on a note of remembrance and gratitude as we celebrated the life of Monsignor Crawford, my childhood priest. His legacy of faith, kindness, and quiet leadership touched countless lives, mine included. In the midst of grief, there was beauty — the kind that only community can bring.

In one of life’s poetic full-circle moments, I found myself reunited with a lifelong classmate — Father Christopher Holcomb. We started school together at Small World and graduated from Pensacola Catholic High, and there we were again, decades later, sharing a moment of faith and friendship. Same heart, new calling, and such a profound reminder that the bonds we form early in life often come back to guide us when we need them most!

From that sacred beginning, the week unfolded with joy and fellowship in so many forms. A beautiful dinner at Global Grill with three dear mom friends brought laughter that filled the room and stories that reminded me how vital it is to have women who truly “get it.”

We toasted to friendship, motherhood, and the beautiful chaos that comes with both. It wasn’t just a dinner — it was a reminder of how grounding and healing time with good friends can be.

Later in the week, a kindergarten mom meetup at Union Public House offered another chance to pause and connect. Between the laughter, shared experiences, and the simple joy of unwinding together, I was reminded that community doesn’t have to be complicated — sometimes it’s just sitting at a table with people who understand your stage of life and celebrating the fact that none of us are in it alone.

The weekend brought a thrilling blend of service and celebration, starting with the Rat Pack event honoring the incredible Jim Reeves and supporting the Council on Aging. What a night! Great music, familiar faces, and an inspiring cause — it was a powerful reminder that joy and generosity go hand in hand. When we come together for something bigger than ourselves, everyone leaves richer in spirit.

Saturday morning kicked off bright and early with the 41st Sacred Heart Cathedral Pumpkin Run, a beloved local tradition and one of my new favorite family events. There’s something magical about running alongside friends, neighbors, and even a few familiar faces cheering from the sidelines. A huge shoutout to MC David Forte for keeping the energy high and the smiles wide! Sharing that experience as a family — knowing we were contributing to something meaningful — was truly special.

And as if the week hadn’t already filled my heart enough, the Sacred Heart Cathedral Seat n Treat added the perfect touch of pure joy!

The sound of children’s laughter, the spin of the trick-or-treat wheel, the happy chaos of costumes and candy — it was everything I love about this time of year. Seeing the wonder in their eyes reminded me why these community moments matter so much — they’re the building blocks of childhood memories and the glue that holds us all together.

I capped the weekend and started the week with my ReadyKids! Reading Pal. Being part of the learning, sharing in their curiosity, and seeing their excitement for reading is a gentle reminder that connection doesn’t just happen with peers or adults — it’s nurtured in every interaction where we show up fully. Moments like these are the perfect bridge between a restful weekend and a purposeful week ahead, and they fill my heart in ways that last long after the story ends.

It was a week of reflection, connection, and celebration, all threaded together by one constant truth: life is better together.

Whether gathered in joy or in remembrance, laughing over dinner, or cheering on a crowd, we are at our best when we show up for one another.

Community and fellowship do not just happen — they’re nurtured through the time we give, the kindness we share, and the love we pour into others. And this week, I was reminded once again how thankful I am to be surrounded by people who make every full day feel like a gift!
