Get your forks ready, Pensacola — two fan-favorite chefs from MasterChef All-Stars are packing up their knives and hitting the road, and their next stop is right here on the Gulf Coast. The MasterChef All-Stars Live Tour is rolling into the Saenger Theatre on October 5th for a night of high-energy cooking, unforgettable food moments, and a whole lot of fun.
I was lucky enough to chat to two of the MasterChef All-Stars and get the full scoop on what to expect this weekend in Pensacola. Rachel Sanchez and Julio Figueredo, known as The Fiery Cooks, are finalists on MasterChef: Dynamic Duos.
As the first Cuban and Brazilian finalists in the show’s history, they proudly showcased their heritage through dishes that blended culture, resilience, and passion. Since MasterChef, they’ve focused on creating engaging food content, teaching culinary classes, and connecting with audiences worldwide. Together, The Fiery Cooks are building a brand that celebrates flavor, culture, and the joy of cooking.
“We’ve been traveling all over the country and the tour has been amazing,” says chef Rachel Sanchez. “Each city has its charm, but we’re especially excited to come back to our home state of Florida and bring the show to the Panhandle. Pensacola is such a special place.”
When asked to sum up Pensacola in a single dish, Sanchez didn’t hesitate: “Fresh seafood by the water. That’s Pensacola on a plate.”
Rachel and Julio’s story began long before they stepped into the MasterChef kitchen. “We actually met at a Mexican restaurant — I was a bartender,” Sanchez shares. “We discovered we both had this huge passion for food and built a relationship around that. We’d cook for each other all the time, and that’s really how everything started.”
Their culinary backgrounds reflect their roots.
Rachel: “I love cooking Cuban food, and I especially love baking — cakes are my favorite.”
Julio: “I’m from Brazil but was raised by an Italian family, so anything pasta-related is home to me.”
Even after facing Gordon Ramsay, the duo says there’s nothing quite like cooking in front of a live crowd.
“It’s nerve-wracking, honestly,” Figueredo admits. “It was nerve-wracking in front of Gordon, but cooking for hundreds of people all watching in real time is a whole different thing. But it’s so rewarding — everyone is excited, cheering, and passionate about the food.”
For Sanchez, the real magic happens when they get to connect with fans face-to-face. “They get to ask questions and interact with us and even cook with us a try the food. That’s the most beautiful part of the tour.”
And when asked who she’d most love to cook for, Sanchez’s answer was heartfelt: “My grandmother. She passed away when I was nine and was the one who inspired me to start cooking. As a teenager, people would tell me my food reminded them of hers. It would mean so much to cook for her now and give that love back.”
