It’s no secret the last several weeks in Pensacola have been hot. Hot enough to make you want to stay indoors all day in the comfort of air conditioning and ceiling fans. Unfortunately for the dogs at the Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare this is a luxury they can’t always enjoy. As the hot days drag on, The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare decided to start raising funds for four industrial fans to keep the animals cooler during the summer months.
One of the shelter’s biggest supporters, WolfGang LLC and Pensacola Paw-di Gras, decided they wanted to step in and see what they could do to help. Jessica and Kim Wolford reached out to several of the Pensacola Paw-di Gras sponsors to see if any of them wanted to help raise money for the fans and were elated to find out one of their long time sponsors, Intermission, were more than ready to support the cause.
“When Intermission heard we were raising funds to purchase 4 industrial fans for the shelter to help keep the animals cool during the scorching summer months, they didn’t just cheer us on — they stepped up and bought them outright,” said Jessica Wolford.
Intermission didn’t just donate money to the cause, they went out and purchased all four fans and delivered them directly to the shelter.

The 5th Annual Pensacola Paw-di Gras will be February 1, 2026 in downtown Pensacola. Pensacola Paw-di Gras is an annual event in downtown Pensacola by WolfGang LLC that adds to our amazing Mardi Gras events. This event brings together Pensacola’s animal loving community, and helps raise awareness and funds for local animal shelters and rescues in need.
