Isn’t it funny how we react when we can’t see what’s ahead?
Our minds become busy, eager, or even filled with dread.
We think on things our minds don’t need.
Every call we hear draws us to heed.
What is this place?
How did I get here?
Distraction captures our attention.
Falling victim to desperation.
Despite this fight inside of me,
You’ve given me the strength to win.
“My God, my God, can’t you hear my calling?”
I feel your spirit near.
The stillness is where you meet me.
Quiet, soft, and sweetly.
My clenched hands now open.
My posture humbled into prayer.
Take me forward in faith;
It is only your love that dissolves my fear.
Though still blind to what’s before me,
I’ll trust each step as long as You are leading.
I’m reminded that the light is shining even in the gloom.
I’m guided by the joy I feel when I put my trust in you.
