Join Bike Pensacola for the most popular bike ride in town–the Slow Ride! Each month we explore the quiet, scenic streets of Pensacola’s many historic neighborhoods for a fun and leisurely ride among friends.
For this month’s Ride we’re partnering with the City of Pensacola Community Redevelopment Agency and their Party in the Park event. There will be food trucks, local vendors and artists, and the chance to learn more about and give input on plans for Hollice T. Williams Park.
What: Bike Pensacola’s August Slow Ride
Where: Cobb Community Center, 601 E Mallory St, Pensacola
When: Saturday, August 16 at 6pm
Because most cyclists are “self taught,” each month we offer information about bicycle laws, safety tips, and addressing different bicycling skills that will help keep rides safe and enjoyable. The ride will be about one hour and ten minutes long, at a casual pace. Nobody will be “dropped” or left behind. Children must be at least 10 years of age to ride their own bicycle, and ages 10 – 16 must be accompanied by an adult. No pets are allowed on the Rides. Cyclists under 16 must wear a helmet by law; ages 16 and up helmets are recommended but are not required by law. We will enjoy a ride escort by officers of the Pensacola Police Department.

The City of Pensacola is hosting the second annual “Party in the Park,” a vibrant two-day community celebration at the Cobb Resource Center, 601 E. Mallory St., promoting community engagement and connectivity.
The free Saturday, Aug. 16 celebration is a family-friendly event that invites everyone to share in art, music, food and storytelling! This is also an opportunity to celebrate the Hollice T. Williams Park design process by collecting feedback on the 2045 Vision Plan.

Highlights:
- Interactive Mural Painting – Local artist Daniel Andreu will lead a community paint-by-number mural project themed “Past, Present, and Future.” This mural will be temporarily installed in Hollice T. Williams Park.
- Live DJs & Story Slam – Enjoy live sets from DJ Hale, DJ Whipit, and DJ Miamiroc, plus an inspiring Story Slam hosted by the Equity Project Alliance.
- Free Meals & Food Trucks – The city is giving away 100 free meals each day! Featured vendors include East King’s Corner Café, KJ’s Fried Chicken, Flamingo Shaved Ice, Bam Snoballs, Popcorn King and more!
- Artist & Vendor Village – Shop local goods and handmade art from regional makers.
- 30’ Inflatable Obstacle Course – Put your skills to the test by enjoying our 30′ 30-foot inflatable obstacle course!
- Bike Pensacola’s Slow Ride – On Aug.16, join a 5K community ride around Hollice T. Williams Park at 6 p.m., organized and facilitated by Bike Pensacola.
- Skate Deck & Bike Raffles – Enter to win a custom skate deck from Upward Intuition or one of two bikes from the city by donating school supplies for local teachers.
- Free Water from Emerald Coast Utilities Authority’s Quench Buggy – ECUA’s quench buggy will be in attendance to provide water to event attendees.
- 2045 Visioning & Input – Explore the full-scale model of Hollice T. Williams developed by MVVA and Geosyntec, and help shape the 2045 Vision Plan.
