“Another way you can spell love is T-I-M-E. You spend time with the ones you love,” explained Sandy Sansing.
On Sunday, July 6, Sandy Sansing was invited to Momentum Church to help launch their “Love Week” event. Standing before the congregation, Sandy continued, “We have to invest our time to show our love for people.”
Sandy Sansing, generous local business owner and leader, helped launch Love Week.For the last 12 years, Momentum Church has hosted Love Week, an eight-day initiative from July 6–13, 2025, dedicated to transforming communities across Pensacola, Navarre, and Gulf Breeze, Florida, through over 60 community service projects. Volunteers participated in projects like painting Pensacola Little Theatre and Navarre High School, building homes with Habitat for Humanity, washing 63 school buses for Santa Rosa County, and cooking meals for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House, among many others.
With over 800 volunteer positions filled, 450 pizzas were delivered to 45 businesses and organizations, 25 smoked pork butts were served, and nine meals were provided to foster
families. Through the partnership with the Red Cross Blood Drive, an estimated 48 lives will be saved.
I had the honor of witnessing a very special moment during Love Week.
Mary, a Pensacola resident, told us every time it rained she had water pouring in from her leaking roof. This had been going on for three years and despite using multiple tarps the leaks would continue. Thankfully, local business owner David Russco with H&R Roofing found out about her situation and took action.
H&R Roofing donated a brand-new roof to Mary and her family. I will never forget the joy on Mary’s face when Pastor Tim told her that H&R Roofing was going to donate the roof. She immediately called her mother, and they were both in disbelief. You can watch more of Mary’s story on Momentum’s YouTube channel. The H&R team completed the roof within just a few days and donated two free roofs to families in need during Love Week 2025.
Mary’s story is just one of many that reflect the heart of Love Week. We never truly know the situation someone is facing or how they might need help. Imagine what could happen if our entire community invested time and reached out to those in need.
In Proverbs 25:21-22, it reads:
“If you see your enemy hungry, go buy him lunch; if he’s thirsty, bring him a drink. Your generosity will surprise him with goodness, and God will look after you.”
Momentum Church uses this scripture as a catalyst for Love Week. One of the church’s core values is generosity, mottoed as “Generosity Generates Goodness.”
“We’re thrilled to see our community come together for Love Week,” said Pastor Tim Payne. “This initiative, now in its 12th year, is about showing love in action, meeting real needs, and inspiring others to join us in making a difference.”
Love Week team members delivered 100 pizzas to Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.The vision is for Love Week to become bigger than Momentum Church—a citywide effort where more businesses, like H&R Roofing, donate their time and resources to help individuals and organizations in the area. This can happen through community service events, meal deliveries, or donations. Imagine what would happen if, for one week each year, an entire city gave back, met real needs, and generated goodness.
