FPL and partners invite the community to the inaugural Touch-A-Truck Hurricane Expo happening this weekend!
Got questions about how to best prepare for a hurricane this season? Enjoy a day of fun with the whole family and gain hurricane preparedness information and resources.
Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) is partnering with emergency management officials, first responders and other community partners to host a free, family-friendly hurricane preparedness event.
The Touch-A-Truck Hurricane Expo will allow families to learn more about how to be prepared for severe weather events while also exploring emergency response vehicles and equipment.
There will also be food trucks, face painting, outdoor games and more for families to enjoy. Kona Ice will be on site serving free treats for the first 500 attendees!
Partners participating in the expo include: FPL; Escambia County Emergency Management; Santa Rosa County Emergency Management; Escambia County Sheriff’s Office; Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office; Pensacola Police Department; Pace Fire Rescue District; Lifeguard Air Care 3; American Red Cross of Northwest Florida; United Way of West Florida; and more!

First responders will be presenting emergency vehicle simulation for children and families to explore, including police vehicles, fire truck, ambulance, emergency command vehicles and even a LifeFlight helicopter!
Community partners like the American Red Cross and United Way will provide information on resources that they can offer after a hurricane.
Sonny’s BBQ will also be available for purchase. Outdoor games, face painting and a hurricane simulator will offer fun activities.
