What? Overture Opera Camp: Teen Week!
When? June 16 – 21, 2025
Where? Pensacola Opera
During a week-long course, children will work with experienced theatre professionals, musicians, and music educators to put together their production of opera scenes and choruses!
From creating sets and costumes to learning their roles, campers will take part in all aspects of creating an exciting performance. In addition to the production, sessions will also be hosted on topics such as:
- Stage movement
- Dance
- Vocal warmups & technique
- Music reading & theory
Get hands-on, behind-the-scenes experience learning what goes into putting together an opera and being a performer, while having tons of fun!
Teen Camp (ages 13-17) | June 16-21, 2025 | 9 AM – 2 PM
Our newly imagined week for teens ages 13-17 introduces campers to everything opera, including languages, vocal technique, movement, and more. This week-long intensive culminates in a performance of opera scenes and choruses. Tuition for the teen week is $175 per camper.
Youth Camp (ages 8-12) | July 14-19, 2025 | 9 AM – 2 PM
This week-long day camp will teach children ages 8-12 about the magic and excitement of live theatre by placing them right at the center of the action, culminating in a feature production at the end of the week. This year’s production will be an abridged version of Verdi’s La traviata, in anticipation of our mainstage production in January 2026. Tuition for the youth camp is $150 per camper.
