This Summer, your wellness and health goals don’t have to take a vacation (even if you do).
Let’s be honest: summer is amazing in so many ways… and also can be kind of chaotic.
One minute you’re soaking up the sun, the next you’re living out of your car between camps, road trips, and pool days. Routine? What routine? If you’re feeling a little off your game, you’re not alone.
But here’s the good news: staying grounded and feeling your best this Summer doesn’t require a super strict plan or a 30-day challenge. It’s about making a few doable shifts that support your body and your schedule. Let’s keep it simple and light — because summer should be FUN, not stressful!
Here are 3 easy ways to stay balanced (and sane) this Summer:
1. Hydration: Your Summer BFF
Water is basically your best friend this season. From sweating more (hello 1,000% humidity here on the coast) to being on the go all day, dehydration sneaks up fast — and can leave you feeling sluggish, snacky, and cranky.
Start your day with a big glass of filtered water (adding lemon is a major bonus with a pinch of Celtic sea salt ). Toss a water bottle in your bag and keep sipping throughout the day. I love adding electrolytes, too – especially if you’re sweating a lot more than normal. My favorites (without added junk ingredients) are LMNT, Just Ingredients & GoodOnya.
Staying hydrated = better energy, better digestion, and a happier body overall. Simple but powerful.
2. Be Snack Smart
Nothing derails a day like being hangry with zero options in sight. Be the hero of your own summer by keeping some easy, blood-sugar-friendly snacks nearby. Think protein + fat + fiber = stable energy and no post-snack crash.
Favorites:
Nuts & fruit (almonds, walnuts, cashews, & berries, an apple, whatever you like!)
Hummus & veggies (carrots, bell peppers, celery)
Grass-Fed Beef Jerky
Hard-boiled eggs w/Salt & Pepper
Protein bars (Aloha are my favorite)
By being prepared, your body will thank you when you’re fueled, focused, and not eating stale goldfish from the bottom of your kid’s backpack.
3. Walk It Out!
Maybe some of your workout routines are challenging this Summer with kids home, or travels. That’s ok! Get them in when you can and when you’re not able to, go for a walk. It’s free, easy, and kind to your body — and it does so much good: boosts mood, lowers stress, aids digestion, and helps you sleep better.
Sneak in a 10-minute walk after dinner, a quick stroll with the dog in the morning sun, or loop the block while your kids play. Walking is movement, mindfulness, and lots of goodness all rolled into one.
Bonus – put on a good playlist or podcast and take a little breather for you.
You don’t need perfect habits — just a few that feel good and are doable for YOU.
Summer might be less structured, but it can still feel grounded. With a water bottle in one hand, snacks in your bag, and a walk on your calendar, you’ve got everything you need to stay balanced (without missing the fun).
You’re doing great. Keep it light, keep it doable, and keep choosing you.
