“Pardon the drool and dog hair – we’re excited to introduce the newest member of the PPD family, K9 Jett.
Purchased in partnership with Pensacola International Airport, K9 Jett is a 16-month-old Chesapeake Bay Retriever imported from Hungary and specializing in explosives detection. K9 Jett completed an intensive 8-week training and certification program along with his handler Officer Tavis Herron, becoming Officer Herron’s 4th K9 partner and the 4th explosives detection dog assigned to the airport since 2002.
While his official role as part of the PPD contingent at PNS is ensuring the safety and security of the traveling public, unofficially he serves as Chief Emotional Support Officer for the staff and visitors of Pensacola International Airport and has volunteered as lead taste tester for Chick-fil-A, Einstein Bros, and Pensacola Beach House. He has also considered a name change for an NIL deal with Biscoff.
