Pensacola Police Department Receives Reaccreditation

The Pensacola Police Department has been re-accredited by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation. The accreditation process requires an in-depth review of every aspect of the agency’s organization, management, operations, and administration.

Accreditation standards provide norms against which agency performance can be measured and monitored over time. They also serve as a yardstick to measure the effectiveness of the agency’s programs and services. The services provided are defined, and uniformity of service is assured. Accreditation is a coveted award that symbolizes professionalism, excellence, and competence.

Earlier this week Mayor D.C. Reeves remarked, “The reaccreditation of the Pensacola Police Department is a testament to the dedication, professionalism, and integrity of our officers. This achievement reflects their unwavering commitment to serving and protecting our community at the highest standards. I am incredibly proud of Chief Randall and the entire department for their hard work in earning this recognition. This is a direct reflection of the men and women who put their lives on the line for all of us day in and day out.”

Chief Eric Randall added, “PPD is committed to continuing to strive for excellence. Maintaining our Florida Law Enforcement and 911 Communications accreditations shows we are performing at the highest standards of professionalism. Our community should be proud of these accomplishments as your police department works every day to make Pensacola the premiere city in Florida to live, work, play, and raise a family.”

911 Communications and Police Operations earned the reaccreditation. It is for a three-year term.
