KITES ON THE COAST Friday, March 14 at 2 p.m. – Sunday, March 16 at 2 p.m. The Council on Aging of West Florida’s fourth annual Gulf Winds Credit Union Kites on the Coast event will be high-flying fun on beautiful Casino Beach.

The community is invited to celebrate this classic pastime with kite flying, activities, local vendors, food trucks, and showstopping demonstrations from Chicago Kite and SkyFX. Proceeds from event donations and sponsors support the seniors and programs served by Council on Aging.

CINEMAS IN THE SAND – SPACE JAM Friday, March 14 at 7 p.m. starting at sunset: “Space Jam” – This 1996 Warner Bros. live-action and animated sports comedy film follows basketball superstar Michael Jordan as he is brought out of retirement by the Looney Tunes characters to help them win a basketball match against invading aliens intent on enslaving them as amusement park attractions. Presented by the Santa Rosa Island Authority (SRIA) and Postcard Properties, this beloved tradition invites locals and visitors alike to gather under the stars, feel the sand between their toes, and enjoy timeless movie classics against the breathtaking backdrop of the Gulf of Mexico.

All movies are free to the public and will start at sunset on a giant movie screen in front of the Gulfside Pavilion stage, weather permitting.
PENSACOLA OPERA – PAGLIACCI Friday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 16 at 2 p.m. While preparing for a performance with their commedia dell’arte troupe, Canio becomes enraged when he discovers that his wife, Nedda, has been having an affair. She refuses to give her lover’s name, as their castmate Beppe urges them to get into costume. During the performance, Canio returns to his jealous rage, and Nedda’s young lover, Silvio, rushes the stage to save her—culminating in a very real tragedy. Featuring one of the most well known arias of all time, “Vesti la giubba,” Pagliacci is a verismo masterpiece of dramatic proportions. For tickets: PAGLIACCI
