Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola has been named as one of the nation’s 50 best cardiovascular hospitals by Fortune and Premier, Inc., marking the eighth time the hospital has been named on the prestigious list.
Sacred Heart Pensacola is one of only six Florida hospitals on the 2025 list. Premier is a healthcare improvement company that utilizes data, analytics and consulting to provide information on improving the health of communities across the U.S. The company annually assesses metrics like patient experience, inpatient mortality, 30-day mortality and readmissions, average length of stay and cost per case.
Over 900 American hospitals were scored on 23 metrics across five categories this year, and the top 50 hospitals outperformed their peers in every category. If every U.S. hospital executed the same level ofNcare as the 2025 honorees it is estimated that 14,000 lives could be saved.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, somebody dies from heart disease every 33 seconds. Roughly one in 20 U.S. adults aged 20 and older has coronary artery disease, the most common type of cardiovascular disease, and every 40 seconds, someone experiences a heart attack, highlighting how prevalent cardiovascular disease is in the lives of Americans.
