SEAN OF THE SOUTH Thursday, February 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Pensacola Saenger Theatre. According to his website, Sean Dietrich is a columnist, humorist, multi-instrumentalist, and
stand-up storyteller known for his commentary on life in the American South. His work has appeared in Newsweek, Southern Living, Reader’s Digest, Garden and Gun, and his column appears weekly in newspapers throughout the U.S. He has authored eighteen books and over four thousand columns. BIG AL AND THE HEAVYWEIGHTS Saturday, March 1 at 5:30 p.m. at Paradise Inn Bar & Grill on Pensacola Beach. This band known for its Southern Roots and Bayou Soul is a good time, for sure! Big Al and the Heavyweights originally formed in 1996 as the Unknown Blues Band, with founding members Al Lauro, Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers Band and Gov’t Mule), and pianist Rick Gergen (Sweethearts of the Rodeo). Of course, Warren is no longer in the band but Big Al has formed a solid array of musicians that features guitarist vocalist extraordinaire Marcel Anton, Dennis “the menace” Cedeno from Brooklyn NY, and harp player, vocalist from Detroit Dangerous Dale Robinson. Every concert at Paradise is fun with friends and friends who become fun. Come out and see ’em following the parade!

FAT TUESDAY Tuesday, March 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Seville Quarter. A low country boil, food trucks, music and dancing, and Krewes will take over Seville for the all day affair. At 7 p.m. President of Pensacola Mardi Gras, Danny Zimmern, will present Mardi Gras awards and kick off the nighttime party that will run until midnight.
