The countdown to the 2025 Pensacola Mardi Gras Season has begun, and preparations are in full swing for one of the Gulf Coast’s most cherished traditions. Pensacola Mardi Gras Inc. (PMGI) invites all Mardi Gras Krewes, local businesses, and community leaders to the second and final City-Wide Planning Meeting on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. The meeting will take place at Apple Annie’s inside Seville Quarter in Downtown Pensacola and is free and open to the public.
This year’s Mardi Gras season promises to be bigger and more vibrant than ever. The City-Wide Planning Meeting is the ultimate opportunity to connect, collaborate, and help shape this year’s celebrations. The evening begins with a cash bar Happy Hour at 5:00 PM, where Krewes and businesses can network and share ideas. At 6:00 PM, PMGI President Danny Zimmern will lead an open forum to discuss city-wide events, answer questions, and open the floor for participants to promote their own Mardi Gras events and offerings.
One of the night’s key moments will be deciding which Krewes will host and decorate the iconic rooms inside Seville Quarter for the Fat Tuesday Celebration on March 4, 2025. On Fat Tuesday, Seville Quarter transforms into Pensacola’s very own French Quarter, where Krewe-hosted rooms create unique celebrations full of energy and creativity. Krewes wishing to participate must send a representative to this meeting to be eligible for the room-hosting lottery—don’t miss this chance to shine during Mardi Gras’ grand finale!
The meeting will also highlight exciting updates and “perks” for Krewe royalty this season, ensuring that our Mardi Gras kings and queens enjoy the recognition and experience they deserve as leaders of their Krewes.
Additionally, attendees will get updates on some of the most highly anticipated events of the season, including the Pensacola Mardi Gras Mambo taking place on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Pensacola Bay Center. This year’s event will be headlined by Lil Jon, with special guest Yung Joc. The Mambo promises a high-energy night filled with music, food, and Mardi Gras spirit. Two (2) Pensacola Mardi Gras Mambo VIP tickets will be given away at the end of the city-wide planning meeting to one of the attending guests. The 2025 Pensacola Mardi Gras Season officially begins on January 4, 2025, with the Kick-Off Celebration. This cherished event will feature Krewes bringing their floats to Downtown Pensacola, where they will be blessed by the reigning King and Queen Priscus in a spectacular royal processional. The blessing of the Krewes, floats, and the community sets the stage for the season, alongside the ceremonial cutting of the king cake to officially open Mardi Gras in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. It’s a moment that embodies the unity, tradition, and excitement of Mardi Gras in Pensacola, and the event that starts the season is unique to Pensacola.
The season’s biggest day, of course, will be Saturday, March 1, 2025, when the Grand Mardi Gras Parade takes over Downtown Pensacola. This parade is the most attended Mardi Gras event of the year, featuring hundreds of entries and drawing tens of thousands of revelers from across the region. The Grand Parade embodies the spirit of Pensacola Mardi Gras, combining family-friendly fun with the vibrant energy that makes Mardi Gras unforgettable.
