With live music, food trucks and glow sticks…Opera After Dark is a night to remember! Join the Pensacola Opera for a unique outdoor concert unlike any other, featuring the incredible Jan Miller Studio Artists under the stars and center stage at the UWF Historic Trust Museum Plaza.
Bring your lawn chairs and blankets beginning at 7 p.m. to pick out your spot on the lawn. Visit the Opera table for free glow sticks and then head to any (or all!) of the food trucks and vendors to the sounds of fun hip hop/opera mashups!
Then beginning at 8 PM, the Jan Miller Studio Artists will perform hummable arias, favorite musical theatre hits, and fun seasonal favorites.
This is a free, all-ages event featuring trucks from PJs Coffee, Sut Shi Sushi & Hibachi, Sweet Love Frozen treats, and Juicy Lemons Lemonade.
The Pensacola Opera will host three additional free events, next week, including the Brown Bag Opera on Tuesday, October 22 at noon; a Vocal Masterclass, Wednesday, October 23 at 6:30 p.m.; and Thursday, October 24 a Maserati test drive event where every test drive earns a $50 donation to the Opera at Step One Automotive.
Pensacola Opera also presents the world premiere of Carmen: The Traveler, a newly adapted, abridged, and re-orchestrated version of Bizet’s monumental masterpiece. Carmen: The Traveler transports the action from its original 19th-century setting to the pre-war tension of 1930s Seville. A versatile cast of singer-instrumentalists will perform their roles while accompanying themselves on instruments including guitars, mandolins, and accordions. This new format will make the experience even more immersive and captivating.
Audience members will be immersed in the Spanish atmosphere of the Seville Quarter, while also enjoying a selection of tapas, Spanish wine tastings, and other exciting surprises before the show begins–all included in your ticket.
Carmen will stage Thursday, November 7 with pre-show activities at 5:30 p.m. and the show at 7 p.m. at Seville Quarter. Tickets are $75 each and are on sale now. For more information, please click here: Carmen Details
