What happens when the American Institute of Architects (AIA) of Northwest Florida partner with Manna? PensaCan 2024!
Cordova Mall is the place you visit as the PensaCan competition has a strong game this year.
Imagine architectural firms and community amateurs given creative license to create impressive structures made entirely from full cans of food.
It happened, and all the structures are displayed at Cordova Mall through October 11th. These food structures (works of art) were built in the common area between Dillard’s and Ross.
Your part? VOTE. You get to decide who is awarded the People’s Choice Award. Each vote is a $5 donation to Manna, providing 3 healthy meals.

On Friday, a celebrity panel of judges voted in categories such as Best Nutrition Award, Best Graphics Award, Structural Ingenuity Award, and more. Winners of each award will be announced during the PensaCan Awards Ceremony.
On October 12th, the food will be picked up and delivered to Manna where they will organize distribution to those in need in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
“Within the last two weeks, the Santa Rosa County School District requested 88 backpacks – normally, they have been tracking at 33 backpacks. The need for food for those who are hungry is rising and that is why events like this are so important. Those that built the structures and those that are voting are our hunger heroes” shared DeDe Flounlacker, Executive Director of Manna Food Pantries.
