As part of Ascension Sacred Heart’s commitment to the Pensacola community, the health system plans to open two physical pharmacy locations on N. Davis Highway and N. Ninth Avenue, respectively.
Ascension’s pharmacy brand – Ascension Rx – launched in 2020 and is open to any member of the community regardless of if they are, or have been, a patient of Ascension’s care before. Sacred Heart Pensacola opened its first physical location on N. Davis Highway in August, and the second will open on N. Ninth Avenue in January 2025.
Both sites will meet the needs of their respective communities as the Davis Highway location will act as the anchor pharmacy for the community north of East Hill and west of Bayou Texar while the Ninth Avenue location is replacing what is currently a chain pharmacy, ensuring that those in the nearby area still have easy access to the medication they need.

● Through a home delivery or mail service
By adding Ascension Rx sites in Pensacola, Sacred Heart is enhancing the patient experience by ensuring there is continuity of care, and integrating pharmacists into the system’s local clinical team. Sharing information between the hospital and pharmacy can also improve medication therapy management and the overall consumer experience.
