KAYAK THE SOUND Friday, August 16 from 9:30 – 11 a.m. at Gulf Islands National Seashore at 1801 Gulf Breeze Parkway. Reservations required – Call 850-934-2600 option 2. Over 80 percent of Gulf Islands National Seashore is a marine habitat! Paddle around Santa Rosa Sound on this 90-minute guided program to explore the region’s natural and human history. Kayaks are provided free of charge. Closed-toe shoes and a life vest are required. Limited to first 10 people.
Note: Kayaks will be provided. Visitors must use park kayaks and equipment and weigh a minimum of 50 pounds, which is the minimum weight our youth life jackets are rated for. For single, sit-inside kayaks, the total participant weight cannot exceed 300 pounds; for tandem, sit-inside kayaks, the total participant weight cannot exceed 500 pounds. Youth are allowed to participate as long as they meet these requirements and are accompanied by an adult.

This one-and-a-half-hour cruise offers both covered interior and exterior seating, a climate-controlled cabin, and onboard restrooms. INCORRUPTIBLE Friday, August 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Pensacola Little Theatre. Incorruptible is a dark comedy set in 13th-century France, where the Catholic Church holds immense power and influence. The play revolves around the struggling monastery of Saint Foy, whose monks are desperate to attract pilgrims and funding. Facing financial ruin and a lack of miracles to draw visitors, the monks hatch a scheme to create their own miracle by stealing a corpse and passing it off as a holy relic. However, their plans take unexpected and hilarious turns as they encounter deception, rivalry, and moral dilemmas. CINEMAS IN THE SAND: SECRET LIFE OF PETS Friday, August 16 at 7:30 p.m. Ever wonder what your pets do when you’re not home? This animated comedy explores the secret lives of pets through the eyes of a lovable terrier named Max and his newfound furry friends. Packed with humor and heart, this film is a treat for animal lovers. All movies are free to the public and will start at sunset on a giant movie screen in front of the Gulfside Pavilion stage, weather permitting.

GREAT SOUTHERN SUMMER RESTAURANT WEEK Thursday – Sunday, August 14 – 18. The Fish House, Atlas Oyster House, Jackson’s Steakhouse, Five Sisters Blues Café and Angelena’s Ristorante Italiano will once again team up to present Summer Restaurant Week. Now in its fourteenth year, the Great Southern Restaurant’s Restaurant Week continues to be a great hit two times a year with both locals and visitors.

Chefs from each restaurant will prepare a three-course, fixed-price dinner menu utilizing the best in local and seasonal ingredients, showcasing their culinary expertise, for $33.00 per person, per restaurant. Diners are encouraged to try each special menu at all five restaurants during Restaurant Week.
