Life’s A Dance Pensacola’s Benefit Dance Showcase is more than just an evening of spectacular performances—it’s a heartfelt community effort to make a tangible difference. This annual event brings together local celebrity performers, professional dancers, supporters, and community members to raise funds for local causes, and this year’s showcase was nothing short of remarkable!
The giveaways, featuring a signed Pensacola Ice Flyer’s team jersey, $500 in skincare and facials to Emerald Coast Aesthetics & Wellness by Sarah Elizabeth, and private pilates sessions at Pilates Core Training with Barbara Bruni (to name only a few!), kept everyone in their seats eager to win while the dancing and music brought everyone up and out of their seats!

Fundraising Efforts: The event featured a lineup of dedicated local celebrity dancers who not only displayed incredible talent but also spearheaded fundraising efforts to support our local initiatives. Each dancer worked tirelessly to gather donations, and their efforts paid off.
Together, the dancers raised a substantial amount, with notable contributions from individuals like Verla Price, who raised both monetary and in-kind donations making her the Fundraising Champ! All the way to dancers who might not have raised any tangible dollars fundraising wise but brought awareness of both the benefit and beneficiaries to the community. The passion and commitment were evident both on and off the dance floor, and the efforts will have a lasting impact on the community.
Congratulations are also in store for the LAD benefit showcase champions by unanimous judge’s decision of local celebrity couple Kevin Christman and his fiancé Ashley Karno!

Ticket Sales and Fundraising: The showcase was a near sold-out event, with ticket sales contributing significantly to the overall funds raised at nearly $25,000! The meticulous planning and careful budgeting ensured that the event was both successful and sustainable, with every dollar thoughtfully allocated to maximize its impact.
Overall, the 2nd Annual Life’s A Dance Pensacola’s Benefit Dance Showcase brought in $59,636.
Victor Luna notes, “We are looking forward to building this number with each benefit we have. Melanie and I simply want to share the arts and promote kindness in the community. What better way than speaking the universal language of dance!”

Supporting Local Causes: This year’s beneficiaries included AMIkids Pensacola, where Melanie holds a seat on the Board of Trustees, and the year-long community giving efforts of Life’s A Dance. The LAD family shared they are thrilled to announce that after payment of expenses and fees, they will be donating $8,000—FAR exceeding their 2023 benefit showcase!
Furthermore, food and toys have been given (and will continue to be given) to the Wedgewood Community Center Kid’s Room, where Victor and Melanie had a ribbon cutting not too long ago partnering with Dominguez Design-Build and Hartley Brothers Manufacturing.

Special Highlight: While Melanie Luna is known for her reluctance to be in the spotlight regarding her philanthropic dedication, her contributions to the community cannot go unnoticed or unstated. Melanie’s giving nature is evident in everything she does.
From donating school supplies, children’s clothing, and kid’s shoes to even giving the last dollars out of her wallet to someone in need, Melanie embodies the spirit of generosity. Her dedication to helping others, often behind the scenes, has made a profound difference in countless lives. You may not see posts, selfies, or statements from her, but that’s why it’s even more important to highlight.
Her efforts during this year’s showcase were no exception. I witnessed firsthand as she ran nonstop helping whoever needed it, all with a smile on her face!

Life’s A Dance Pensacola’s Benefit Dance Showcase is a testament to the power of community, the impact of collective efforts, and the generosity of individuals coming together. Through dance, fundraising, and a shared commitment to giving back, this event continues to uplift and support those who need it most, year after year. We cannot wait to see what is in store for 2025!
