The season for 5K’s and fun runs is upon us and here at the Local Pulse, we are all about supporting good things. This week, we are highlighting Upper Room Church and their upcoming Annual Mission’s 5K!
Happening on Pensacola Beach at the beginning of September, the 5K is an effort to raise money for local and international mission work. Upper Room Church is known for their boots on the ground work in our local community as well as abroad.

Upper Room believes God is doing incredible things — across the street and around the world.
“We are committed to reaching people far from God and it starts with local community outreach, then carries forward to global missions. Our Mission Initiatives share the love of Jesus with people in our local and global communities. Communities aren’t changed by programs but by relationships developed among the people in that community. In our missions work, we build and support relationships that inspire change.”
Upper Room’s Annual Mission’s 5K
When: September 14th
Where: Pensacola Beach Pavilion
Time: Race begins at 8 AM!
There will be a $200 Running Wild gift card for overall 1st Place winner! Fun Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in each age/gender category!
“We will be raising money for mission projects for the following year. This includes foreign mission trips and partnering with local missions. Each registration includes a T-shirt and a bag full of swag! We will have prizes for multiple age ranges and a finisher prize this year!”
“Last year, thanks to many of you, we were able to raise money for Child Hope, a ministry dedicated to breaking the orphan cycle in Haiti. We were also able to fund a garden project at Milk and Honey, a Surf Camp hosted by Christian Surfers for Deaf Believers and a few more fun serve event through our “Serve My City” group!”
Lace up and sign up for this 5K with your entire crew! You’ll find walkers, runners, strollers, and scooters in this family friendly race. Getting outside and running for a good cause is a great way to spend time together and connect with a new community.
