If you haven’t heard, the mental health crisis among teens is outrageous. Anxiety, depression, and suicide among youth ages 11-18 is a rising epidemic. Speaks 2 Inspire is leading the way in building awareness around positive solutions.

Storytelling Solutions of America (SSA) proudly announces the
inaugural Inspired Minds Summit 2024, a pioneering event dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and resilience among teenagers in Northwest Florida.

SSA’s mission is to empower youth to share their stories and access mental health care through the art and skill of public speaking. The summit will take place on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 9 AM to 2 PM CST at the Gateway Church of Christ, 445 Creighton Rd, Pensacola, FL 32504.

A recent Florida Substance Abuse Survey revealed that 48% of Escambia teens often feel they “are no good at all,” and 54% have felt depressed or sad most days in the past year. The Inspired Minds Summit aims to create a safe and supportive environment where teenagers can share their stories, learn valuable mental health tools, and build resilience.

Event Highlights:

● Inspiring Keynote Speakers: Including Reese Butler, founder of the National Hopeline Network 1.800.SUICIDE, featured on NBC Nightly News, Fox News, the NY Times, Washington Post, and Rolling Stone magazine.

● Youth Storytellers: SSA’s Youth Storytellers will share their mental health journeys to inspire their peers.

● Dynamic Breakout Sessions: Covering various topics related to mental health and well-being.

● Live Interviews and Performances

● Vendor Scavenger Hunt

● Inspired Minds Mural Reveal: A project where teens collaborated with a local artist to promote youth mental health.

Fundraising Event: “Bingo for Inspired Minds”

SSA will also host a special fundraiser, “Bingo for Inspired Minds,” on the evening of Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM CST at the Studer Community Institute.

This event will bring together business leaders, sponsors, community members, and parents for an evening of bingo, networking, inspiring speakers, and engaging activities to raise funds for the summit.

Special guests include Blab TV’s Host, Sonshine, and David Magee, author of the national bestseller, Dear William: A Father’s Memoir of Addiction, Recovery, Love, and Loss.
