STATE FAIR THE MUSICAL Opens Friday, July 26. Performance dates are July 26-28 and August 2-4. Tickets are available at https://performingarts.pensacolastate.edu/upcoming-events/ or (850)484-1847. State Fair is a musical with a book by Tom Briggs and Louis Mattioli, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, and music by Richard Rodgers. Phil Stong’s original 1932 novel, State Fair, was first adapted for film in 1933 in a production starring Will Rogers.
PARTY IN THE PARK Friday, July 26 from 5 – 9 p.m. Slow Ride + Game of Skate; The Slow Ride + Game of SKATE event will include a 5.5 mile Slow Ride around Hollice T. Williams Park and through the Eastside neighborhood and a competitive game of SKATE at the Blake Doyle Skate Park. Participants can take a survey to participate in the game of SKATE for a cash prize and raffle prizes. The first 50 people to take the Equity survey will also eat for free. Additional entertainment at this event will include a DJ and food trucks. This event is sponsored by Bike Pensacola, Upward Intuition, and Brown Bagger. THE NEW CAHOOTS Live at Paradise Bar & Grill, on Friday, July 26 at 5:30 p.m. “The New Cahoots” is an acoustic/electric group based in Pensacola, Florida. The band, formed in 2020, has written original music from a blend of bluegrass, folk, and Americana. They have supported acts such as Railroad Earth, Town Mountain, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country & Dumpstaphunk. They have also played multiple sets at Suwannee Roots Revival at Spirit of Suwannee Music Park. Performances include a diverse catalog of originals and covers ranging from traditional bluegrass, folk, jam bands & rock and roll. The band features members: Michael Garcia – Guitar & Vox; Jay Stafford – Mandolin; Owen Finley – Bass; Ethan Giles – Drums; and Brooks Hubbert III – Fiddle, Guitar, Mandolin.
