Local Pulse’s Weekend Top 10

While the Blue Angels are the star of the weekend show, several other fun events are happening around Pensacola!


BLUES BEACHSIDE BAZAAR Friday, July 12 at 7 a.m. – July 13 at 4 p.m. The Pensacola Beach Chamber hosts a vendor market, the Blues Beachside Bazaar, each year at the annual Pensacola Beach Blue Angels Airshow! While you’re enjoying the Air Show, be sure to stop in and visit our vendors! The Blues Beachside Bazaar will be located at Show Center, near the Gulfside Pavilion.

PLANT EXCHANGE AT EMERALD REPUBLIC Friday, July 12 from 6 – 10 p.m. Bring a small potted plant or your propagated plant babies to swap with others. Please be sure to include care instructions for your plants. Make a friend over a pint and small talk over plants.

Anavrin Botanicals on site selling plants should you choose to buy instead of swap. Anavrin will be setup early starting at 11 AM for you to purchase plants, but will host the swap starting at 6 PM.

WINE TASTING Friday, July 12 from 5 – 7 p.m. at The Bottle Shop. Join us for wine tasting every Friday from 5-7 pm rain or shine.  Explore 10 wines from around the world with a new local distributor sharing their wine knowledge each week.

Sunny days are spent in our courtyard and rainy days inside The Bottle Shop. Behaved, leashed dogs are welcome and kid-friendly at your discretion. $10 per person – Purchase in-store. Tasters get a $5 credit on purchases from the tasting lineup.
Great for singles to mingle, friends to meet up, and date night! Super welcoming crowd and laid-back atmosphere for you to learn and enjoy wine.

ANNUAL LOCO MOCO HAWAIIAN BREAKFAST BENEFIT AT SHAKA BAR Saturday, July 13 at 8 a.m. Each year for Blue Angels Weekend, The Shaka Bar raises funds for a special cause. This year’s Annual Loco Moco Hawaiian Blues Breakfast will Benefit a Beloved Local Family who has fallen upon tragic times.

On June 5th, the Pierce family lost their 22-year-old son, Trinton, in a car accident. Their other son, 17-year-old Ryan, was ejected from the car and is still in recovery.

PALAFOX MARKET Saturday, July 13 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. in Downtown Pensacola at the Palafox Farmer’s Market – South at Plaza Ferdinand. You will find a variety of vendors for fresh foods and local products, including handmade and cottage industry items. It’s a great place to shop for unique gifts for yourself and others. Typically there are baked goods and plenty of ready-to-eat or order options, which make it a great place for a breakfast or lunchtime snack.
GLOBAL POKEMON GO FEST Saturday, July 13 at Plaza Ferdinand at 10 a.m.

The two-day global event that’s happening everywhere and anywhere around the world: POKEMON GO FEST 2024 – GLOBAL! Over 70 Pokemon will appear during the event, plus special costume Pokemon, in-game bonuses and more!
For those who live in the Pensacola area or are visiting to be part of this fun, POGO summer event, WELCOME TO GO FEST! I hope you’ll enjoy your time in Pensacola as many players, new or veteran, young and old, will come out and have an overall great time while showing their love of the Pokemon fandom. MOVIES IN THE PARK: WONKA Saturday, July 13 at 6 p.m. at Community Maritime Park. Bring your blankets and chairs out to Hunter Amphitheater in Community Maritime Park for a family-friendly movie underneath the stars!

All Pre-Show Activities Begin at 6 P.M. MOVIE BEGINS AT SUNSET!
Free event parking is available at Community Maritime Park and City Hall
Snack concessions from local food trucks will be available for purchase subject to availability. Picnic baskets are welcome too! No pets or glass containers, please.

THE FLAVORS Friday, July 12 from 6 – 10 p.m. at Five Sisters Blues Cafe. Five Sisters Blues Cafe, located at 421 West Belmont on the corner of Belmont and DeVilliers streets, is a restaurant built on some of Pensacola’s deepest history right in the heart of historic downtown Pensacola – The Blocks.

For decades this intersection was the epicenter of African-American business and social life. It was here that the progression of musical culture made its mark in Pensacola. Each of the four corners of the intersection features buildings that date to the neighborhood’s historic period that served as the hub of the blues community; including Gussie’s Record Shop, WBOP Radio Station, and Abe’s 506 Club. PENSACOLA VINTAGE FEST Sunday, July 14 at 10 a.m. for earlybird and 11 for general admission at the Pensacola Fair Grounds. The Pensacola Vintage Collective calls this the biggest vintage event the Gulf Coast has ever seen! 20,000+ sq ft of Air Conditioned space inside the main expo hall will be filled with every style and genre of men’s, women’s, and children’s vintage clothing imaginable. MARK NORMAND YA DON’T SAY TOUR Sunday, July 14 at 7 p.m. at the Saenger Theatre. Mark Normand is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He began performing stand-up in his hometown New Orleans in 2006. He has performed across the United States and abroad and has appeared on Conan, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Tickets are available here: Mark Normand
