Move over tacos, it’s time to talk about your rounder, more put together big brother. The burrito. National Burrito Day is celebrated on the first Thursday in April which is tomorrow. The day celebrates everyone’s appreciation for burritos. The Mexican dish is popular all over the world, but it has only been offered in American restaurants since the 1930s. Can you imagine a time where burritos didn’t exist? We can’t.


And to celebrate, we say have your burrito and eat it too. So where can you get the best burritos in and around Pensacola? Here’s a list of some of our favorites spots to hit up tomorrow for your breakfast and lunch cravings.

1) Sharkbite Navarre

Located at 8671 Navarre Parkway, Sharkbite has been named as the best breakfast burrito in the state, according to Yelp. Serving breakfast burritos from 6am-11am, Tuesdays-Sundays you do not want to forget about this hidden gem. The view isn’t bad either!

2) Dog House Downtown

One of Palafox’s OG’s, Dog House Downtown is making our list because their breakfast burrito game is next level. With seven different ones to choose from, there is a burrito for everyone. Add a side of the French Toast Bites while you’re at it, we dare you!

3) Native Cafe

Why not stay on the breakfast train for one more burrito? Native Cafe’s breakfast burrito is the perfect handheld device for your beach day. It’s simple, it’s cheesy and the bacon is crispy. What more do you need in a breakfast burrito?

4) Juan’s Flying Burrito 

With a name like that, this is a given! Breakfast, lunch or dinner they have a burrito for every meal. Just make sure you come hungry. Like really hungry because these burritos are as big as your head! And when it comes to burritos, the bigger the better.

5) Taqueria El Asador 

It doesn’t get more authentic than these love filled tortillas. This was Pensacola’s local secret for several years until they became nationally recognized as one of Business Insider’s 50 Best Taco Joints in America. Know for their tacos, but don’t sleep on their burritos!

6) Tacos Rock

Located in Gulf Breeze, Tacos Rock has some of our favorite queso and some of the biggest burritos we have ever seen. This family owned restaurant has 18 different burritos to choose from. Oh, and did we mention a handful of them come stuffed with French fries? YUM!

7) Tacos El Fluffy

If you watched our Food Crush video a few months back, you know were are massive fans of El Fluffy and the owner Geo. Well, we are also massive of the burritos they’re serving up. The best part about all of the food served here is the way it’s lovingly made from scratch, and there’s a whole lot of love going into the burritos.

7) Gaby’s Taqueria

Did someone say seafood? Gaby’s Taqueria serves authentic California-style Mexican food with plenty of fresh fish, shrimp and breakfast tacos all day. They’re known for their Mahi and Shrimp burritos, but we love the vegetarian cauliflower option as well. The ambiance and outdoor patio is the cherry on top.
