Hundreds of swimmers and firefighters to descend on Pensacola Beach

On Saturday, April 13, Pensacola Beach will be awash with swimmers and firefighters from all over the country as they come to compete in two separate events on the island. The Pensacola Beach Firefighters Challenge and Deluna’s Swim promise an exciting Saturday at the beach.
Pensacola Beach Firefighters Challenge
The storied Pensacola Beach Firefighters Challenge, a competition of brute strength, sheer will, finesse and determination takes place April 12 & 13 at Casino Beach. Pensacola Sports is once again hosting the 8th annual challenge that draws local firefighters as well as those from across the country.
Partnering with the Escambia County and city of Pensacola Fire Departments, the event will test civilians’ and firefighters’ skill as they maneuver through a five-station course, all in the sand.  Two teams/individuals will compete at one time. The five stations on the course include: forced entry, charged hose pull, kaiser sled, dummy drag and hose hoist.
