Spring Break Staycation: UFOs on Pensacola Beach

Earlier this month, we gave you 10 things to do while “staycationing” in Pensacola for Spring Break. The entire list is linked here: 10 Ideas for A Spring Break Staycation in Pensacola. One of the ideas was playing at UFOs on Pensacola Beach and eating at either Sidelines or Crabs Restaurant.

I took 3 boys in 2nd and 3rd grades for an afternoon of fun at UFOs miniature golf, followed by chicken tenders at Sidelines, and ended with ice cream and arcade fun back at UFOs.

After parking in the public parking lot of Casino Beach nearest the entrance and Sidelines Restaurant, we walked over to UFOs. Discounts are available, but generally children 11 and under are $10 each and adults are $13. We each picked out a colored ball and a golf club based on height. Pencils and scorecards are available for the competitors.

A winding path takes you through a clean, tropical-themed 18-hole course, featuring fun surprises and waterfalls. The boys had a blast seeing how many times it would take to make it to the hole but often lost interest after two tries. I’m not going to lie, the impatience of little boys sometimes has its advantages.

We went through the entire course in about an hour. The boys then picked Sidelines for a chicken tender dinner. Sidelines has an affordable kids menu and the boys loved walls full of TVs showing a variety of sports. If your day’s activities are finished, Crabs is a great option for kids to play on the playground and have dinner outside.

After dinner, we returned to UFOs to play in the arcade before eating ice cream. Bring cash or prepare to use the ATM in front of Crabs for a fee. There are coin exchange machines in UFOs. The arcade has a pool table, air hockey, and about 10 other arcade games, including pinball machines.

If you haven’t been to UFOs lately, you will be impressed with the refreshed theme and overall cleanliness of the building’s interior and golf course. All three boys give this outing a thumbs up and I give it a Local Mom Seal of Approval.
