How to Shop Local: Kstar’s Holiday Gift Guide

While online shopping might have taken a leap during the last few years, there’s something so invigorating about walking into a darling little boutique, chatting with fellow locals, and choosing just the right gift for that special someone.

My shopping list is typically located in the notes on my phone to keep track of all the goodies purchased, making sure I “keep it even” for the kiddos in the house. I know you know mamas!

I also have a gaggle of friends who love to exchange all things that sparkle so those shopping trips may or may not end with a “one for them and one for me” gift.

My fun little shopping adventure began at the lovely Bodacious Bookstore & Café. I could sit in this cozy little book nook for half the day and get lost in a good mystery novel. But alas, the perfect gifts must be found for those I love. First up, this adorable little book titled “Just Enough” by Matthew McConaughey – A SIGNED COPY! I almost bought it for myself just to have his autograph. Next up, a Golden Book for my Swiftie, how can I pass up this little gem? Imagine in thirty years how much it could be worth! Next, I sauntered over toward the café where I found handmade jewelry, board games, local authors’ work, and the perfect gift for one of my three dirty Santa gift exchanges. Would it EVEN be a shopping trip in Downtown Pensacola if Ididn’t stop by the oldest jewelry store in Pensacola? Established in 1919, Elebash Jewelers is the greatest place for gems in my opinion. I was mesmerized by all the sparkles and landed on the classic diamond earrings which I quickly took a picture of and sent to my hubs. Make sure to swing by Wednesday, November 8th, as the Christmas lights begin to twinkle, and shoppers experience the Holiday Haul on Palafox. Enjoy complimentary Lamonte Gelato and “buy one, get one 50% off” permanent jewelry from 5—8p. Follow them on social here.

Next it was over the river and through the woods, well actually just the new and improved 3-mile bridge where I stopped in to see GG at Gibson Girl Boutique. This is most definitely a one-for-them, one-for-me kind of store. I found the perfect Christmas sweatshirt for my 12-year-old daughter, oversized of course. Would it be cute if we matched? Next, I picked up a Hobo Original wristlet perfect for my bestie, designer sunnies for my 20 year old daughter, and bought all the stocking stuffers. Also loved the hat selection and saw plenty of outfits I will go back for when I pick my Christmas party attire. Follow them on social here.

As our kiddos get older, quality time gets sweeter. Lastly, I ventured over yet another bridge to see my friends at Laguna’s Pensacola Beach where I chose a gift card so our whole family can experience a day at the Adventure Park. You know we’ll have warm days in December. Choosing experiences as gifts has become a family favorite. Follow them on social here.

This quick little shopping adventure has my wheels turning and I can’t wait to finish my list in this great community we call home. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll get it done early this year.

Merry Christmas and Happy Everything!
